No, YouTube won't be selling sweets and cold drinks but rather derived products (posters, stickers, T-shirts), music and concert tickets of artists presented on YouTube.
Google has got together with a whole host of major players who know how e-commerce works. Amazon and iTunes will be in charge of music purchases, Topspin will be handling derived products and Songkick concert ticket sales.
No information has yet been given as to how the takings will be shared out but if sales reflect usage on the platform (3 billion videos viewed each day and 800 million users) there should be a juicy pie to share out in Silicon Valley.
