Test and analysis
Still looking at video, Windows Live Movie Maker allows you to edit videos from different sources: videos, music, photos.

For this test, we used three videos from a Panasonic TZ-7 (HD 720 p) camera. We added two images, some transition effects and a WAV audio file.

There isn't much of a difference, even though more memory allows you to speed up the operation.

On the high-end machine, the differences are minimal between 2 and 4 GB. Moving up to 6 GB does gain a few seconds however.

Here are the results that we obtained on our entry-level machine, then on our high-end machine.

Entry-level machine (Core 2 Duo) - Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit
Rendering time in seconds: low is good

High-level machine (Core i7) - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Rendering time in seconds: low is good
