Test and analysis
We go back to Adobe Photoshop CS4 to measure the time to open the application.

Unless you're hyper-sensitive when it comes to opening programmes, you shouldn't see any difference in the launch of this particularly heavy piece of software.

This goes for both the low-end and high-end configurations. To go faster, you need to use a faster hard drive or SSD.

Here are the results that we obtained on our entry-level machine, then on our high-end machine.

Entry-level machine (Core 2 Duo) - Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit
Start-up time in seconds: low is good

High-level machine (Core i7) - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Start-up time in seconds: low is good
