Test and analysis
Tom Clancy's HAWX is an air battle simulation game. Details of buildings and the ground are quite extensive and the DirectX 10 (and 10.1 with Radeon HDs) rendering engine gives nice graphics.

Not much difference to note on the entry-level machine: use of 4 GB of memory allows you to gain one frame per second on average. Negligeable.

The results are identical on a faster machine: you're limited by the graphics card and the processor but not the memory.

The verdict is similar for load time which is no different from one configuration to another.

Here are the results that we obtained on our entry-level machine, then on our high-end machine.

Entry-level machine (Core 2 Duo) - Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit
Average speed in frames per second: high is good

High-level machine (Core i7) - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Average speed in frames per second: high is good

Now here’s the load time of a game:

Entry-level machine (Core 2 Duo) - Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit

Load time in seconds: low is good

High-level machine (Core i7) - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Load time in seconds: low is good
