Test and analysis
Far Cry 2 is a first person shooter (FPS) adventure game set in Africa. It has a particularly advanced graphics engine and physics but the game itself remains fairly light. The results are calculated in frames per second, so high is good.

There are some negligeable differences on the small machine, 2 GB of RAM giving an frame per second less on average.

The results are pretty much the same on the high-end PC: Far Cry 2 doesn't benefit from being able to use more than 2 GB of memory.

Here are the results that we obtained on our entry-level machine, then on our high-end machine.

Entry-level machine (Core 2 Duo) - Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit
Average speed in frames per second: high is good

High-level machine (Core i7) - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Average speed in frames per second: high is good

Entry-level machine (Core 2 Duo) - Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit

Load time in seconds: low is good

High-level machine (Core i7) - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Load time in seconds: low is good
