Whether surfing with Wi-Fi or 3G, who hasn't at some point lifted up and waved around their smartphone to try and get coverage? French daily 20 Minutes recently reported a story initially featured in the regional newspaper Nice Matin. And thankfully, it doesn't end tragically.
A young resident of Menton near the Italian border was holding out her laptop and moving around trying to pick up a Wi-Fi signal. Not paying much attention to her surrounding environment, she toppled over and fell out of the window. Thankfully, the 25-year-old woman only fell from the first floor window and suffered fractures but lived to tell the tale. So if you happen to live on the tenth floor and you're having trouble with your network, think on—you're better off nipping out to use the free Wi-Fi at your local café than risking your life!
