It's been a while since we've reviewed any new webcams, but we're getting back into the swing of things this week with two 720p HD models that shouldn't set you back more than £50.

The Dualpix HD720p for notebooks is one of the latest webcams from Hercules and, as the name suggests, it's designed for use with laptop computers. It has a video sensor with a resolution that can reach and even exceed 720p (1280 x 800 pixels maximum).

Similarly, the Microsoft LifeCam HD-5000 has a sensor that can film in 720p resolution, as well as a handy autofocus function. It's also very good value for money.
