With 3D just around the corner, projector manufacturers are sicking to a formula they know well: high-end, 1080p 2D projectors.  Today we're testing two of them, one from Panasonic and the other from Mitsubishi.

The PT-AE4000E is the fourth member of Panasonic's range of high-end projectors.  Its instantly recognisable look is taken straight from its predecessor, the PT-AE3000E, tested in our lab a year ago.

Both projectors are manufactured in Japan, and benefit from Panasonic's strict quality control and vertical integration, with every step from research and development through to manufacturing taking place in the firm's Japanese plants.

The new HC6500 is here!  Mitsubishi's HC6800 has the same look as its predecessor, but the manufacturer claims to have added "advanced technologies deliver contrasts now more distinctive than ever before."  The design itself hasn't budged, so what about this excellent contrast?
