Buyer's Guide: The Best Video Projectors
Bring the cinema home
Editor's Choice : BenQ W1070
The BenQ W1070 is a remarkable projector. With accurate colours in Standard mode, high contrast and absolutely no crosstalk in 3D, it rivals its higher-end competitors while also selling at a lower price. Other brands should take an example from BenQ!
Compact Projector : ViewSonic PJD7820HD
The ViewSonic PJD7820HD displays a nice, big image with accurate colours. The 3D mode is particularly impressive, with barely any trace of image defects like crosstalk. This projector has a handy compact design but contrast is pretty low.
Short Throw : BenQ W1080ST
The W1080ST has all the same advantages as the W1070, such as faithful colours, high contrast and flawless 3D. To that it adds a short-throw lens that can project an over two-metre-wide image from just 1.5 metres away. It's another home run from BenQ!
Excellent 3D LCD Projector : Sony VPL-HW40ES
On top of its excellent Motionflow motion compensation, the VPL-HW40ES boasts improved upscaling with Sony's own Reality Creation. On top of that, the blacks are deep and the colorimetry decent. Its 3D mode isn't perfect, but it's still one of the best Full HD projectors currently available.
