We've seen a little bit more of the netbook Samsung and Google have teamed up to produce—set to go on sale on June 15—in a new video which includes a few interesting facts, including a promised boot time of under ten seconds.
Samsung's is the first of the Chromebooks that was launched at the Google I/O event to make its debut on video. It has a 12.1'' screen, runs Google Chrome OS and promises an ultra-fast boot time. It can play video up to 720p.
Google's new OS should be constantly updated to improve performance via a permanent Internet connection.
It's said to be more responsive than Windows 7, with a full boot taking less than ten seconds and instantaneous resume from standby. Samsung also claims its new computer should be ready to get online almost as soon as it's out of the box.
We're also glad to hear that Samsung claims to have produced a reflection-free screen. We're interested to see how the firm has managed that, and we hope that it isn't just by boosting the brightness to the 300 cd/m² mentioned in the video.
