And if you don't like blue?

PNY has decided to maximise its number of potential customers by offering up this key in several different colours, including blur, pink, yellow, red and black.
PNY's City range of USB keys offer 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB or 16 GB of storage in a very small frame. Here we're testing the 4 GB version.

The metal exterior is well-made, and this is a very nicely finished USB key. It has the added advantage of being so small that it can go entirely unnoticed in your pocket. The downside of it being so small, of course, is that it's very easy to lose. To help avoid that, PNY has included ring at one end that you can use to hook it onto a key ring.
Dreadful write speeds
![]() |
Speeds MB/s
Put simply, the read speeds produced by this key are as impressively good as its write speeds are shockingly bad. That means that you'll need quarter of an hour to copy 4 GB of files on to this key (to fill it up, in fact), but doing the opposite--copying all of the files back onto your computer--only takes three minutes.
Pluses

-
Good read speeds
Minuses
-
Poor write speeds
If you're looking for a small USB key, and you're not often in a hurry, this is the key for you. Otherwise, you'll certainly find better elsewhere.
