Waterproof, shock-resistant and retractable

All at the same time? The Voyager Mini has a retractable USB connector, and we're usually a tad mistrustful of that approach, which doesn't protect the base of the connector. Here, the connector has a plug that protects it when it's closed. The rubber shell makes the drive waterproof and shock-resistant.
With its small size -- 3.5 cm long by 2 cm wide - the Voyager Mini is well named. Despite its small size, its 4 GB will be enough for you to carry around most of your personal files. Carrying video, on the other hand, can be tough since movies often run between 4 and 8 GB.
Speed: Not bad for a little guy
Most tiny USB keys have speeds to match. But with this one, that's not necessarily so, even though it's no contender against the big boys. The write speed reached 5.9 MB/s with large files. That means it takes a little over 11 minutes to fill up the drive. That's only average. But the read speed was better, coming in at 18.3 MB/s. With that kind of read speed, the key can be emptied of its contents in approximately 3 minutes 40 seconds.
