LG has redesigned the Magic Motion Remote Control for its 2012 TV range. As well as a gyroscope, the 2012 model will have a built-in microphone for voice recognition.

We first saw the LG Magic Motion Remote Control with the excellent LEX8 TV earlier this year. This innovative remote could be used to navigate through the TV's menus with a simple flick of the wrist—a bit like with a Wiimote. We found it practical and really user-friendly!

LG has equipped the 2012 version of this remote with a voice recognition system for simplified text entry. This should certainly make surfing the web a much more pleasant experience on LG's connected TVs. A scroll wheel has been added for a quick and easy way to scoot through the menus, and the handy 3D key brings an extra dimension to viewing in compatible TVs at the touch of a button.

The Magic Motion Remote is due to launch alongside LG's 2012 TVs and is highly likely to be presented at the CES 2012 tech show in January. We'll be sure to let you know if we spot it.
