This model is the 60'' version of the 50'' TV that we tested in our labs, the LG 50PZ950T.
It shares a plasma display with a glossy finish, as well as connected features including support for the DLNA protocol and an impressive built-in media player. It managed to handle external storage devices formatted using NTFS as well as the majority of the HD videos we tried, even stretching to chapters inside MKV files.
When we tested it, the plasma display turned out to be very responsive at 8.5 ms. Colours are reproduced accurately (average deltaE: 2.2), but the gamma could be better with dark greys. A contrast ratio of 970:1 is disappointing. Like with other plasmas, the display is perfectly even and boasts excellent viewing angles.
It can handle 3D content well, although not quite as well as Panasonic's plasmas. When viewing in three dimensions, you'll get Full HD, but with a little bit of crosstalk too.
The audio quality is only just acceptable, and while it's good enough for ordinary TV programmes, you'll want more bass for films.
The energy consumption is often high with plasmas and this TV is no exception to the rule. The 50'' uses around 350 W.

Everything we said in the original article holds true--the only thing that's different is the size!
The only exception is that some manufacturers fit different sized televisions with panels from different sources. In that case, our comments are only valid for the panel that we originally tested. Contrast, black levels, colour handling and ghosting are all subject to change from one panel to another.
Manufacturers who do fit the same panel in all of the TVs in a range can expect the same results across the whole range. The only factor which could be prone to slight variation is the brightness, producing slightly different contrast. According to our own tests, and assurances from manufacturers, the results of one TV can accurately be applied to others in the range.
Pluses
-
Good quality picture in 3D
-
Very wide viewing angles and a very even display
-
Two pairs of 3D glasses supplied
-
Two remotes: one large one with backlit buttons plus a mini version
Minuses
-
Glossy screen susceptible to reflections
-
Disappointing contrast for a plasma: 970:1
-
3D glasses are too tight if you have ordinary glasses
-
Slightly high energy consumption: 350 W
-
M2TS, MTS and subtitles not supported by media player
The LG PZ950 TV produces a great picture and good quality 3D video. However, it's also one of the few plasma TVs with a contrast ratio of under 1000:1, which is very disappointing!
