One month down the line from the CES 2012 technology show, LG has announced it'll be starting production of its 55-inch WOLED TV in July. The TV's release date has therefore been pushed back.

While presenting the group's financial results in Seoul, South Korea, LG announced plans to start production of its 55-inch WOLED TV (the 55EL9600) in July 2012. Each month, 8,000 of the so-called '8G' (2.2 x 2.5 m) screen panels will be manufactured, which is enough to make 48,000 TVs. Even though this particular TV is excepted to sell for somewhere around £8,000, those production figures still look a little low given the enthusiasm we saw for this model at CES 2012.
LG hasn't confirmed an official release date for it 55-inch WOLED TV, but we should see it arrive in time for Christmas 2012.
