Could LG already have a replacement lined up for the LW980S? In 2012, it seems that the firm is due to release the 55LM9600, unveiled online by error after being crowned with a 'CES 2012 Innovations Award'.

The CES is a major consumer technology trade show that's held every year in Las Vegas at the beginning of January. The organisers have access to new products due to be presented at the show ahead of the event itself, and award a selection of prizes to the products they consider to be the most innovative.

LG scooped three out of five prizes in the 'Video Displays' category, for the LG 55LM8600 (Edge LED TV), LG 60PM9700 (3D plasma TV) and the LG 55LM9600, an LCD TV with Nano Full LED backlighting.

For the time being we've only been given a sneak peak at these products' designs, and they all look sleek and stylish with slimmer-than-ever bezels! No tech specs have been given as yet, so we can't tell whether the LM9600 sticks with Full HD resolution (which is likely) or how many LED local dimming blocks it has (here's hoping there are 288 rather than 96). The only thing that LG has confirmed is that the 47LM9600 and 55LM9600 won't necessarily replace the LW980S, which is currently in the process of being rolled out. They could instead be additional models in what could become a new and distinct Nano Full LED TV range.

 Let's take a look at LG's three prize-winning models:
