We made some pretty big changes to our TV buyer's guides this week. There are two key reasons for the shake-up.For starters, our scoring system has changed slightly. As well as the usual host of tests, measurements and criteria we use to give a TV its overall score, we've introduced some new minimum qualifying criteria for four- and five-star reviews.
- For a four-star score: the measured contrast ratio in our chosen colour mode (User, Movie, Custom, etc.) should be over 1500:1.
- For a five-star score: a TV should get at least four stars for clouding, and contrast should be above 1500:1.
