The LG3500 series is very similar to the design of the LG5500 series. We invite you therefore to take a look at the LG 42LG5500 for more information.

Two points are worth noting regarding this 32LG3500:
  • Definition is limited to 1366x768, as a result of which it has a much less detailed image than its bigger brother, above all in HD. The lack of definition is even more obvious on the 42 inch version. Note that there is also a 37 inch version.
  • Black levels aren’t as good and it scores around 0.30 cd/m²; a rather mediocre score which gives it an ANSI contrast of 560:1.
For the rest, the quality, ratings and hardware are all identical to those on the 42LG5500 tested at the same time. You’ll find the HD compatible digital tuner, but also the same colour issues when connected to a PC, with images strangley faded and desaturated.
Pluses

-

Good sound, especially for an entry level TV

Minuses

-

Default settings mediocre

-

Weak contrast

-

Colour quality problems when connecting to a PC

In the new generation of TV, the LG3500 series represents the entry level range. They do nevertheless come with an HD compatible digital tuner (limited to HD Ready however) but the contrast is quite weak.
