This latest viral video charts the history of the television is just 59 seconds, from the black and white beginnings of 1958, through to the colour sets of of 1969 and beyond.
The video is actually a Samsung advert that's supposed to get our mouths watering in anticipation of the firm's upcoming TV range, due to be presented at the CES 2012 tech show in January.
The end of the film is therefore a little disappointing, as it shows active shutter 3D glasses in 2010 and connected TVs in 2012. Is the connected TV really Samsung's huge revolution for 2012? Are those the same not-so-successful and often sub-standard connected services that several firms have being trying to sell us for the last two years already? We can only hope that the Android interface and content Market will be on hand to save the day! Surely Samsung would have been better off showcasing the 55" OLED TV the firm is due to unveil imminently, or even a Quad HD model, as a real revolution for the 2012 TV market. Then again, Toshiba is the only firm that's actually confirmed the upcoming release of such a model ...
