Sharp has used the CES as an opportunity to show off several new TVs, but it's the new Elite Series that's gaining the most attention.
According to Sharp, it's the company's top-of-the-range TV and the result of a new collaboration with Pioneer. It's aimed at users who want their TV to sound as good as it looks, and are willing to spend a small fortune on getting their Home Cinema just perfect. With a Quattron display, Full LED backlighting with local dimming, it sounds like it could be the LCD TV to beat ...
Other models include:
- 945 Series with 3D and LED backlighting: they'll have Quattron Qaud PixelPlus II displays with red, green, blue and yellow sub-pixels and LED backlighting. We don't know whether that's Edge LED or Full LED backlighting, but they won't be here for another six months so we'll have plenty of time to find out!
- 847 Series with 3D and LED backlighting: more of the Quattron Quad PixelPlus II display, but this time definitely with Edge LED backlighting.
- 745 Series with 3D and LED backlighting: Edge LED backlighting and a stylish aluminium frame, but this time 'ordinary' pixels with red, green and blue without the fourth, yellow element.
- 640/540 Series with LED backlighting: covering five different models: the LC-70LE640U, LC-60LE640U, LC-52LE640U, LC-46LE540U and LC-42LE540U. Edge LED backlighting.
