Ahead of CES 2012, which opens today, Sharp has presented the LE847 TV with active-shutter 3D technology.

Sharp has followed the LE945, also presented yesterday, with another Quattron TV—the LE847, available with a 60-inch or 70-inch screen. This model doesn't have Full LED backlighting but instead has LEDs placed around the edges of the screen (behind the panel). This makes the casing slimmer but in turn means that the contrast is likely to be lower and clouding could be more of a problem. Otherwise, the LE847 has the same active shutter 3D technology and 200 Hz motion interpolation mode as the LE945.
