Samsung has presented a new series of ES8000 high-end televisions, including a whopping 75-inch model (that's 1 m 90 cm diagonally from corner to corner)!

After the C series in 2010 and the D series in 2011, say hello to 2012's ES series. Could the 'S' stand for 'Slim'?
Samsung's ES8000 TV will in fact be available with 46", 55", 60", 65" and 75'' screen sizes. Each model has a dual-core processor for running the applications that come loaded in the TV, as well as those users download via a new simplified process.
Samsung has once again equipped its TVs with active-shutter 3D and proudly displays the 3D Full HD logo (ahem!). One thing that has changed in the world of 3D viewing, however, is that manufacturers have decided to use universally compatible glasses. The Samsung 3D glasses supplied with these TVs will therefore be compatible with Sharp, Sony and Panasonic active 3D TVs.
Samsung has also decided to develop a voice control function for its top-of-the-range TVs. Just say 'Hi TV, channel up, channel two, web browser...' and your clever new telly will do exactly as you tell it!

Motion control is on the cards too, with these functions set to be available in Samsung's high-end 2012 TVs.
In 2013, an optional 'Evolution' kit will then be released for those who want to equip their TV with these extra functions. It's unclear yet whether the kit will be compatible with all TVs or just Samsung models.

The Samsung ES8000 series is due to launch in spring 2012.
