CES 2012: Samsung Confirms Full HD 3D in 2012 Series 6 TVs

On the Samsung stand at CES 2012, we met David Seongwon, one of the firm's technical managers in Seoul who's been following our investigation into the the firm's 2011 Series 6 TVs, which turned out not to deliver the Full HD 3D initially promised.

He assured us that Samsung's 2012 Series 6 TVs (EH6500 and slim-bezel ES6500) won't be subject to the same problem. Obviously, we'll be sure to check that out as soon as one of these new TVs arrives in our test lab (we'll probably get our hands on them in April, ahead of their release in May).

The Samsung US reps on the stand were only too happy to tell us all about the 2012 TV range, but they were also adamant that the 2011 Series 6 models did deliver Full HD 3D. When we tried to bet them a bottle of champagne that they were wrong, the reps were only too happy to criticise the halved 3D resolution in LG's passive 3D models (and only in LG's models, according to them), but they weren't prepared to take us up on our wager ... which seems pretty ironic in Las Vegas ...
