Ahead of the official opening of the CES 2012 tech show today, LG has presented its 55-inch OLED TV and announced a Google TV to follow.
This TV weighs 7.5 kg and is 4 mm thick, according to LG.
Certain other TVs in LG's upcoming range will also benefit from some new technology, including:
- a new TV OS based on Android (as expected); and
- voice command and motion-tracking functions (with movement tracked by a 3D camera). The new Magic Motion remote (see right) works a bit like a Nintendo Wiimote, and should be supplied with several LG TVs in 2012.
All of this had, of course, already been announced prior to LG's press event yesterday. So all it remains for us to do now is head over to the LG stand to check out these new TVs for ourselves!

Here's the first glimpse we got of LG's 55-inch OLED TV.
It's called the 55EM9600 and apparently has a contrast ratio of 100 million :1!
