The analysts over at Display Search have done a nice little study of the upcoming 4K/Quad HD TV ranges. Quad HD will be available on 50" to 84" TVs.
| Brand | Size | Panel Maker |
| Samsung | 70" | Samsung |
| LG | 84" | LG |
| Sony | 84" | LG |
| Sharp | 60" | Sharp |
| Toshiba | 55" | AUO |
| Toshiba | 84" | LG |
| Hisense | 50" | CMI |
| Hisense | 65" | CMI |
| Haier | 65" | CMI |
| Changhong | 55" | AUO |
| THTF | 50" | CMI |
CMI (Chimei Innolux) is the new name of the corporation that was born of the merger between CMO (Chi Mei Optoelectronics) and TPO Displays. CMI is most well-known for inexpensive LCD panels that technologically are a notch just below the top models by Sharp, LG and Samsung.
Judging based on this list, it's safe to say that the Chinese companies Hisense, Haier, Changhong and THTF have so far failed to make a dent on Western markets. So the 4K TVs we get over here will probably be limited to products from Samsung, LG, Sharp and Toshiba, at least in the near future. And Toshiba will likely be making the smallest 4K of them all: 55".
