Reviews coming up this week

Our first look at the Apple iPhone 4 will be published on Friday

Here's a quick reminder of our weekly plan so you know where you stand:
Mondays: displays, including monitors and TVs. Tuesdays: cameras, camcorders and peripherals. Wednesdays: hardware components and printers. Thursdays: mobiles, smartphones and audio equipment. Fridays: laptops, notebooks, buyer's guides. Saturdays and Sundays: insight and analysis.

  • Tuesday: we looked at the Sony HDR-AX2000E camcorder, earlier, and we'll be sticking with imaging when our occasional series of guides to the trickier aspects of digital photography covers Bayer filters and how software can demosaic RAW files.
  • Thursday: the new Samsung Wave is the manufacturer's first smartphone to use the in-house Bada OS—and also spots a Korean-built CPU and Super AMOLED display.  Is that enough to catch up with the combined forces of Apple and Android?  Now that the World Cup is heating up, it might be time to think about projecting some of the bigger matches, which you can do with either the Sanyo PLV-Z4000 or Sanyo PLV-Z800
  • Friday:  as ever, we'll end the week with a look at laptops, with one aimed almost exclusively at games: the Alienware M11x.  We'll also be investigating what changes the growth in cloud computing might bring.
  • Saturday: our latest Buyer's Guides will cover laptops and netbooks.
  • Monday: we'll be seeing if big really is beautiful when it comes to monitors with the 28'' HannsG HZ281 and the 24'' Iiyama ProLite E2472HD, and looking at Toshiba's 40WL753 TV.
