This week's tests + last week's top fives: 3D TV and Acer does Android

It's not really a very big surprise, but our test of Samsung's 3D TV shot straight into last week's top five, beating all of our other product tests from last week.  We can't wait to try out other manufacturer's attempts at 3D TV, and don't worry, it shouldn't be long now.

This week in the lab, the Canon SX210 IS is being put through its paces, and we're eagerly anticipating the arrival of monitors from some of the new 2010 collections.

Tests for the week ahead

• Tuesday: we're covering two different ends of the video specturm today, with the tiny hand-held Sony Bloggie camcorder as well as a test of the Panasonic Blu-ray disc player

• Wednesday: Intel has upped the ante, adding six cores to its new Core i7 980X--but is it that much better than the existing i7 975?  We'll also be putting two MP3 players up against each other, the iPod Touch and the Cowon S9 in this week's duel.

• Thursday: Acer is having another go at producing an Android smartphone.  Plus: two media centres, including the much-anticipated follow-up to the PopcornHour C-200

• Friday: two mini PCs, one from Asus and the other ASRock, along with this week's Buyer's Guide--laptops.

• Saturday: in time for the US launch of the iPad, our analysts take a look at where tablet PCs are headed

• Monday: just because it's a Bank Holiday, we won't be slacking off.  We've started work on the 2010 TV collections, and so we'll bringing you the first Toshiba of 2010.

And that's not including a few surprises that might just pop up if you're lucky ...
