This week's tests + last week's top 5: Panel Switching and Projectors

With last week's most popular tests dominated by a surprising selection of older monitors, Samsung's displays have charged their way back into our top five reviews this week. 

All is not rosy for Samsung, however, as our investigations into panel switching in Samsung and Sony TVs have been the most-read news stories on DigitalVersus this week! Stay tuned for more on that soon.

Here's a quick reminder of our weekly plan so you know where you stand:
Mondays: displays, including monitors and TVs. Tuesdays: cameras, camcorders and peripherals. Wednesdays: hardware components and printers. Thursdays: mobiles, smartphones and audio equipment. Fridays: laptops, notebooks, buyer's guides. Saturdays and Sundays: insight and analysis.

  • Tuesday: this morning we took a closer look at colour spaces in an article which may help you understand why your pictures don't look the same in different web browsers. We then got our hands on Canon's Ixus 105, a budget compact camera that's a seriously smooth operator.
  • Wednesday: we'll be looking at two pocket-sized pico projectors from Samsung and Optoma, as well as webcams from Trust and Logitech.
  • Thursday: we'll be getting up close and personal with the Acer Stream, a touchscreen Android smartphone with plenty of multimedia functions.   
  • Friday:  we'll be looking at a couple of back-to-school netbooks from Acer, plus a Data Robotics NAS system for network-based backup.
  • Monday: as usual, sees us start the week with a screen.
