Designer Jesse Thomas has compiled a series of stats about the Internet into this video.

Many of them are amusing, some are surprising and others quite frankly frightening.  To give you a few examples, last year there were around 1.73 billion Internet users, 81% of all e-mail traffic was spam and that it takes 30 000 servers to power Facebook's 350 million accounts.  Other facts of note include the 82% of American users who watch video online and that 148 000 new infections every day contribute to ever larger networks of zombie computers used for botnets and other attacks.
