So Asus has announced another touchscreen tablet. However, with its decent set of specs and $250 price tag, this 7-inch model is likely to put entry-level tablet manufacturers under serious pressure.
On paper, the EeePad MeMo 370T (or M370T) has a more-than-respectable set of specs, with an IPS capacitive touchscreen, an NViDIA 1.2 GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor and the Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. That, and its low retail price, should make the M370T a heavyweight competitor for 7-inch and 8-inch tablets from manufacturers like Archos and Samsung.

The M370T is a light and practical device to handle. Although it's not especially slim, this new Asus tablet is a well-finished piece of kit with a soft-touch rear panel that feels nice under your fingers.
Connections include a micro-USB port and a micro-HDMI output, as well as the same 40-pin proprietary port seen in Asus Transformer tablets for connecting accessories and docks.

There's a 3.5 mm jack for headphones and a miroSD slot for boosting the device's memory. Photos and videos are taken care of by an 8-Megapixel camera but there's no LED flash.

Although Asus hasn't given an exact release date for this tablet, it's apparently due to arrive around the same time as the EeePad Transformer Prime 'HD' 700 Series. In other words, we can expect to see it on shelves by summer 2012.
We'll certainly be keen to see how this announcement goes down in the tablet market—among both manufacturers and consumers ...
