While in Japan, Vincent picked up a few bits and bobs for our test lab, including two USB 3.0 flash drives and, more importantly, two USB 3.0 card readers!
Loas is one of the first manufacturers to launch (in Japan, of course) card readers with a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface. Thanks to this new lightning-fast connection, we can really see what latest-generation memory cards are made of, as they're just too fast for the USB 2.0 interface to exploit them to their full potential. Plus, these card readers are compatible with loads of different formats, including CompactFlash, SD (HC & XC), MicroSD (HC & XC), MS, MS Pro and xD (M/H) cards.
These new tools will allow us to take our memory card reviews one step further, as we'll be able to test the full potential of new-generation cards. In fact, stay tuned for four SDXC card reviews coming soon!
