Who said computer monitors have to look boring? Certainly not Asus' design team, who've ditched the classic monitor stand to create a new range of screens that prop up like photo frames. It's not just the stand that's new though, as an overall design revamp gives these new displays a distinctive and stylish look.
We've already tested the high-end model in this range, the LS246H 24-inch, 2 ms, Full HD monitor. It has a slim, glossy black casing and leans back gracefully on its ring-shaped stand. Plus, our test showed that an original design isn't this monitor's only strong point.
In the same range, the Asus MS246H is a cheaper model with identical-looking spec to the LS246H, including VGA and HDMI entries and a headphones output. According to Asus, the main differences are essentially aesthetic: notably, the high-end model is made from better-quality materials. Another difference we were pleased to see is that the MS246H has a matte screen instead of the glossy panel featured in its top-of-the-range counterpart.
MS-series monitors are also available with a 23-inch screen, one of which we'll be testing on Monday!
