I'm sure plenty of you out there were cursing Blizzard for pushing back the release date of Starcraft II over and over and over again. But while part two of the epic Starcraft adventure has now finally been released, another big games title is keeping us waiting: Duke Nukem Forever.
To fill you in, work on a follow-up to the Duke Nukem 3D first-person shooter game began all the way back in 1997 (that's before the first Starcraft was even released)! The release date kept constantly being pushed back by developer 3D Realms, until in 2009 the game was finally suspended.
The story doesn't end there though. According to a source over at Kotaku magazine, Gearbox Software, most famous for developing Borderlands, Brothers in Arms and Half-Life, has now taken over the development of Duke Nukem Forever from 3D Realms. The source also said we could expect to see a demo before the end of the year.
President and CEO of Gearbox, Randy Pitchford, declined to comment on the matter. If the rumours are true, we reckon we'll have to wait until the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle this September to find out more.
