For months I've been holding off publishing stories about products that only seem to interest me personally, but this time I just couldn't resist! And honestly, who wouldn't love this Star Wars digital camera?

IMC Toys Star Wars Camera

Amazon uk                £19.99

The only spec given on the Amazon website is the camera's weight: 200 g.

Photos + Videos + Webcam

A closer inspection of the product packaging shows an advertised resolution of 1.3 Megapixels—that's with interpolation, mind you—and a built-in memory of 8 MB that can apparently store 200 photos. Note that those 200 photos have to be compressed to the minimum size of 40 KB. There are four compression modes to choose from, and with 'high def' 160 KB pictures you'll only have room to store 50 snaps. It's all pretty lightweight stuff so I wouldn't expect too much from the picture quality.

The manufacturer's website states that this camera can also record AVI-format videos and that it can even be used as a webcam (cool! I wonder when other digital camera manufacturers will get round to that too). Plus, the photo function has a burst mode.

Look a little closer at the spec and you'll see that the camera's native resolution is 300 Kpixels (which makes for photos of 640 x 480 pixels) and that the lens has a fixed focal length of f/2.6.

May the force be with you

Possibly the coolest thing about this camera though, is that Darth Vader's lightsaber lights up when you take a photo! What's more, you can use the photo customisation software supplied to add Star Wars themes, designs and motifs to your pictures to make greetings cards, flyers and more.

Batteries are not included (2 x AAA).
