Three SSDs join our internal hard drive product survey: the Intel X25-M 80 GB, the Intel X25-V 40 GB, and the Mach Xtreme Technology MX-DS 100 GB.

On sale for the last few weeks in a first version, the Intel X25-M is back in its new Postville version, one of the best SSDs in terms of value for money since its appearance on the market. We naturally wanted to run it through its paces.

The Intel X25-V is the poor relation of the X25-M. The V stands for "Value". It's limited to 40 GB of storage, against 80 GB and 160 GB for the X25-M. It is of course also priced much more accessibly.

The Mach Xtreme Technology MX-DS is built around the SandForce SF1222 controller, whose reputation is now assured. Lets see what performance it gives in practice.
