The Bravia 5500 family’s life will have been a short one: a new generation, the Bravia 5800, is already here.
We have seen them but we have very little detailed information for the moment. The main sales argument is the fact that they have three built-in HD tuners: TNT, cable and satellite. For the rest, no great changes apparently.

Here: the Sony Bravia KDL-46Z5800
The Z5800s are still at 200 Hz, 24p, wide gamut, 100 000:1 contrast.
The 40Z5800, 46Z5800 and 52Z5800 will now be on sale.

The Sony Ws will exist in the following versions: 32W5800, 37W5800, 40W5800, 46W5800 and 52W5800.
On the menu: 100 Hz, 24p, 100 000:1, Bravia Engine 3…

Sony Bravia V5800: Bravia Engine 3, 50 Hz only...
And together:

From left to right: V5800, W5800, Z5800. The designs haven’t changed…
