Sony has just announced the arrival of its PSN pass on Eurogamer and thus joins the war on the second hand game market.

The PSN Pass will be introduced with the game Resistance 3 slated for release on September 7 2011. The activation code system that will be specific to each NEW game, opens the door to all the title's online options.

Sony intends to make gamers pay and consign second hand games to history with these radical measures, following in the footsteps of other games publishers such as Electronic Arts, Codemasters and THQ.

Sony says that anyone who buys a game second hand will also be able to purchase activation codes for full online access, as is the case with Electronic Arts titles currently.

The march towards an elitist video games market seems to be gaining a stronger hold among publishers, much to the displeasure of gamers.
