Yesterday, the tests on the Sony Bravia HX803 3D TV began. It's a 3D LCD TV with active technology and backlit by LEDs either side. If you're an impatient sort of person, you now have access to the raw data!

To recap, Sony is offering three ranges of 3D TV. First came the LX903 (40, 52 and 60 inches) and the HX903 (46 and 52 inches). To that we're adding the HX803 (cheapest), which comes in 40, 46 and 55 inch models.

Sony talked about the HX803 at CES 2010 in January. In contrast to the others in the range, the HX803 doesn't have the Monolythic design with the eyecatching glass façade. Some will prefer its more sobre and less glossy panel.

For the rest, it offers a wide range of features. For example there's a 200 Hz Pro motionflow to fluidify movement in films, a Bravia Engine 3 processing chip, a sensor to adjust display parameters according to the brightness in the room and a multimedia player.

While awaiting the test, you can, as of now, compare it to other TVs. Check out its contrast ratio, responsiveness, colours, upscaling and so on.
