What happens online in the space of a minute? What does everybody get up to? How many pages are viewed? How much stuff gets downloaded? And how many of us are talking on Skype? This infographic from Shangai Web Designers tries to answer some of those questions, pulling together information from multiple sources to give a picture of a single minute in the life of the Internet.

In just sixty seconds, 13 000 iPhone app downloads are made, 510 040 comments are posted on Facebook, 98 000 tweets are posted, 100 new people sign up for LinkedIn, Firefox is downloaded 1 700 times and finally—perhaps most impressively of all—168 million e-mails are sent ...

Take a look for some more fascinating facts: in the six minutes it's taken me to write this piece, nearly 4 000 videos have been added to YouTube!
