Sharp Adds Energy Labels to its TVs

Given that households spend almost 10% of their income on energy, these labels are an essential way for consumers to choose the most efficient TV, and will become compulsory in third quarter of this year.
Sharp hasn't waited for the standard to come into force and has already added it to its whole range. Its current 40'' to 60'' TVs all score either A or A+.
As you can see from this example label, other information is also included, such as whether there's an on/off switch, the diagonal screen size, as well as the energy consumption in W and the amount of power used in a year in kWh.
