Iomega eGO 500 GB
While the USB 3.0 interface is still rare in computers, most manufacturers already have at least one USB 3.0 drive in their catalogue.

Iomega is looking to accelerate the process and move its whole range over to USB 3.0... without changing pricing. They're starting with the 500 GB and 1 TB eGO series drives, which look likely to be the first to move over to USB SuperSpeed with release planned for October.

Next comes the Prestige Compact Portable Hard Drive series which will go over to USB 3.0 in the course of the first half of 2011. The other models will be following close behind and USB 2.0 may well have totally disappeared by the end of the second half of 2011.

This is pretty good news as although USB 3.0 computers are still rare, these drives will remain USB 2.0 compatible and will boost performance after the move over to the new standard.
