Online services are a real bonus for today's modern sat navs. Whether it's for getting traffic updates, looking up addresses or finding new points of interest.
But as the name suggests, the Mio Navman V575 TV has a built-in TV tuner that can receive digital television pictures and an EPG.
You can either attach a separate aerial to your windscreen using a suction mount, or use a built-in antenna. You need to be somewhere where the signal is absolutely perfect and it doesn't work if the car is moving.
That said, the quality is reasonable and means you don't have to miss your favourite programme while you're on the go.
Although it shares a lot of similarities with the Mio Navman 575, the new Navman V575 TV GPS uses different hardware and adds a TV tuner which might of interest of some users. The software, however, is identical, so it has exactly the same strengths and weaknesses as the Navman 575. In this review, we'll be concentrating on the differences between the two models.
Hardware: feels too plastic, accessories need some more work
The Mio Navman V575 TV isn't the smallest GPS we've seen: it's 16 mm thick and weighs 220 g. It's reasonably well built, but its look is a little dated and cheap compared to the rapid progress made by its competitors in this area.More irritating is the fact that the suction mount uses the same annoying system where you have to clip it to the device first. At least it does a good job of staying attached to the windscreen.

The V575 TV's hardware includes an SiRFprima chip with a 600 MHz processor. Although it takes less than ten seconds for the GPS to start up, or half the delay imposed by the 400 MHz processor in the Navman 575 or 578, it still doesn't feel very responsive once you get get going.
On the other hand, it's now faster and more accurate at picking up GPS signal.
Handling: the interface and screen could be better
Everything in this section is just the same as with the Mio Navman 575.
Route guidance: simple and effective with IQ Routes
Everything in this section is just the same as with the Mio Navman 575.
Other features: a pinch of multimedia
As well as having a TV tuner (more on that in the inset), the Mio Navman V575TV has a media player that you can use for music and video files stored on your memory card. You should avoid very high definition video, but it's probably OK if the kids are bored on holiday.
