Although the world of graphics cards has been pretty quiet so far this summer, Sapphire has been hard at work developing the recently released Radeon HD 6950 Toxic graphics card.

The Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 Toxic is an overclocked graphics card boasting souped-up clock speeds compared with standard versions of the Radeon HD 6950. The graphics chip has therefore seen its frequency upped from 800 MHz to 880 MHz, while the 2 GB memory has been boosted to a somewhat less impressive 1300 MHz compared with 1250 MHz as standard.

The heatsink has been slightly redesigned, and looks more like the one in the stock Radeon HD 6950 we reviewed back in May. Plus, connections are standard stuff for an HD 6950, with two DVI ports, an HDMI socket and two mini-DisplayPort connections. No RRP has yet been announced for this Toxic graphics card, but you can probably count on it being a bit more pricey than Sapphire's standard Radeon HD 6950, which sells for around £190.
