Although some may consider the camcorder market to be dead in the water, Sanyo definitely thinks there's life in it yet, as the brand recently announced it'd be adding two new models to its Xacti range. The CG21 and GH3 both film in 1080p HD (1920 x 1080 pixels - 30p or 60i) and also take 10-Megapixel photos.
Like the Xacti CA100, these new camcorders have a 10x double zoom range in video mode, for capturing sweeping landscapes or single subjects. An Easy Upload function is also on hand for one-touch uploading to YouTube.
The CG21 and GH3 both have a 2.7-inch colour LCD that can be swivelled to 285°. They're compatible with all types of SDXC memory card, as well as Eye-Fi SD cards for transferring videos and photos to a computer wirelessly. Videos are recorded in MPEG 4-AVC/H.264 and up to 4 hours of 1080p footage can be stored on a 32 GB card.
