On paper, the main differences between the two models are the noise level and the contrast ratio. In practice, the higher noise level isn't of huge importance if the figures quoted by the manufacturer are accurate. The difference in contrast could be more worrying though, as there's a risk that the PLV-Z800 could be fitted with older-generation LCD panels which bring down contrast levels.

The same tech specs as the previous generation

Comparing the tech specs with those of the previous generation of projectors doesn't show up any real differences. We therefore contacted Sanyo for more information. We'll let you know what they say as soon as we receive an answer.
