After announcing the arrival of a new Series 7 laptop just a few days ago, Samsung has now unveiled the ultra-fast Series 7 Chronos laptop, due to be presented at the IFA 2011 tech show.
The Chronos laptop boasts a sleek aluminium casing and the highest-spec model will come with an Intel Core i7-2675QM processor, up to 8 GB of RAM, a hard drive of up to 750 GB and an AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics card.

Connections include an HDMI output, microphone and headphones sockets, three USB ports (2 x 3.0 and 1 x 2.0) and an SD card reader. Plus, all models will come with Express Cache technology, which basically means that a small 8 GB SSD is built directly into the motherboard. This storage space is used for your most frequently executed files and helps make them much faster to launch.

The Chronos laptop also has a DVD drive, a backlit keyboard and a large touchpad.

So far, Samsung has announced two different sized Chronos laptops: one with a 15.6" screen packed into the same sized casing as laptops with 15-inch screens; and one with a 15-inch screen with the same chassis as models that usually have14-inch screens. Prices have been announced at $999 in the US and €1,000 in Europe (which means it'll probably sell for around £1,000 in the UK) with release apparently scheduled for October.
