Samsung has launched two new families of 'green' external hard drives. The new 'G' series rounds out the manufacturer's range of 2.5'' and 3.5'' drives, and is worth considering for anybody who wants a sttylish drive with plenty of room.
First unveiled earlier in the month at the CES in Las Vegas, Samsung's new G series is split into two sections: the G2 Portable and the G3 Station. The former are 2.5'' drives available in capacities of 250, 320, 500 and 640 GB, while the latter are 3.5'' models with either 1 or 2 TB of space.
The studded surface seems designed to prevent any accidental scratching or greasy fingerprints. Eager to boost its green credentials, Samsung claims to have been inspired by nature in its choice of colours: you can get your new hard drive in olive green, coral blue, cobalt black or white silver.
If you like the sound of having one of these on your desk, you'll be glad to hear that Samsung will be releasing them in mid-Febuary.
