A million Galaxy Tabs, the iPad's most serious competitor, have now been sold, according to Samsung.

The tablet was recently placed 10th in a GFK survey of hi-tech products sought after for Christmas. The market for it is clearly starting to take off.

Two months after coming onto the market, the Samsung tablet, running on Android, looks as if it has started to find its usership. Remember, Apple claimed to have reached the symbolic one million marker one month after launch, two million after two months and four million by the beginning of October.

Favourable Period

With Christmas not far away, manufacturers are of course gearing up for a price war and, though prices are still high, the demand is there.

iPad, Galaxy Tab, Archos, Dell Streak... which of these tablets will come out on top?
