After the C7700, Samsung has announced the launch of their second edge LED 3D TV: the C8700 available in three sizes (40, 46 and 55 inches).
The difference between these two Samsung active 3D TVs is minimal. The glossy black plastic frame on the C7700 has been replaced with brushed metal for the C8700. A new dynamic backlighting system has also been built into the C8700. According to Samsung, this proprietary technology works in harmony with local diming to improve the contrast ratio.
Otherwise both TVs offer edge LED backlightling, a Motion Plus 200 Hz mode to fluidify movement and 2D to 3D conversion. On the multimedia side they are DLNA and Internet@TV compatible, PVR Ready and have a multimedia player.
While waiting for the test, if you haven't already checked out the tests of the Samsung 46UEC7700 and the Panasonic Viera TX-P50VT20 3D TVs, we invite you to take a look.
