Here's an e-mail we recently received from one of our readers:
Hello,
First of all, we have to say that we've never been contacted with this question before. Almost all compact cameras use the same kind of system for attaching the wrist strap. Some manufacturers explain how this works in their product user manuals, but that's obviously not the case with Sony's HX7V. We therefore forwarded your message to Sony, suggesting that some users may find such an explanation helpful.
One of Sony's Cyber-shot reps, Mathieu Lesieur, then got back to us with the following series of pictures to help make things crystal clear:
The wrist strap has a big loop and a small loop. Take hold of the small loop.
Squeeze the small loop together and slide it under the little bar on the side of the camera.
Next, pass the big loop through the little loop as above.
Then pull.
Hey presto! Your wrist strap is now successfully attached to your camera!
The same system is used in pretty much all compact cameras these days. Some models, like Ricoh cameras, even have several different attachment points to choose from, at the top and the bottom of the camera, for example.

| Subject: HELP Hello, I've just bought a Sony HX7V. I've looked through the manual and the quick-start guide but it doesn't say anywhere how to attach the wrist strap to the camera! I know that my question probably isn't all that interesting and I imagine that the solution is all too obvious, but I'd be interested in knowing if I'm the only person who's had this problem. Have other readers ever contacted you for help with this? Thanks in advance for your help! |
